...The air was warm and inviting. Colors of gold and orange blazoned everywhere. Loading up all the essential equipment to help me to immerse myself into the hiking experience, I set out for Silver Creek Park. It was a trail I had not walked in many years. Too many of my hiking friends now no longer could make the trek, but I was determined to experience that trail more time. For the first time in years I dug out my walking staff to help me along the way. Strapping my fanny pack around my middle I now had some inspirational music to listen to as I walked along taking in all the sensory experiences of the trail. The sun was bright, the air was clear. SPRINGTIME TULIPS ... April showers brings May flowers"...It must be so, because we in Barberton are noticing all the flowering trees and spring flowers as we float by on our pontoon boats. That's actually a local joke in reference to how much rain and flooding we have experienced lately. I would begin the spring clean-up of Le Petit Jardin if it would ever stop raining. Meanwhile, I drink more tea while nibbling a cookie as I plan how I will set up this year's gardens. Lots of art projects are bombarding my brain as I stir my gardening mojo during the wet waiting. Lately I have been on a lemon kick since discovering scrumptious non-gluten lemon shortbread cookies. Lemon scented candles have perfumed my abode and I have been using lemon essential oils as my springtime personal fragrance. ...As with each new year I sat down and created "the list". Resolutions to change bad habits and to create new good habits dominate my list. I sit and stare at the list, hoping to somehow scrunch up new energy and resolve to make the projects ahead of me become a reality. The curse of flat surfaces is everywhere with strong ju-ju mocking me. "I will not put up with this any longer!" I announced to the four winds. Pitching and sorting, I began a brutal triage of old papers, bits and pieces of buttons, pens, tacks, trinkets, etc. Feeling much like Indiana Jones searching for the Ark of the Covenant, I persevered digging through the piles of accumulated paraphernalia stacked on my kitchen table.
