    ...The air was warm and inviting.  Colors of gold and orange blazoned everywhere.  Loading up all the essential equipment to help me to immerse myself into the hiking experience, I set out for Silver Creek Park.  It was a trail I had not walked in many years.  Too many of my hiking friends now no longer could make the trek, but I was determined to experience that trail  more time.  For the first time in years I dug out my walking staff to help me along the way.  Strapping my fanny pack around my middle I now had some inspirational music to listen to as I walked along taking in all the sensory experiences of the trail.  The sun was bright, the air was clear.  It was peak weekend for the fall foliage and there were many families taking advantage of this season of leaf peeping.      Armed with my trusty camera I walked with a slower pace than others around me as I stopped fr...

The Memory of Magic Jenny...

     As I was ringing a customer's items at the store where I work, she commented about two little girls who walked by us, hand in hand.  They had just had their portrait done in my store's studio.  All ribboned hair and cutesy little girl clothing, they walked side by side holding hands.  The site of the two little girls had triggered a sweet memory for my customer.  She made the comment about how every little girl had that sweet moment of holding hand with a special little friend, and she wished life was that simple again.  As I considered the thought I realized that I did not have such a treasured memory.  "I don't have that kind of a memory," I commented.  Surprised, the lady said, "You don't?  Why is that?"  I began to explain that as an only child I was raised in a neighborhood where there were no other children.  I spent a lot of time alone.  My imagination and my pets were my solitary world in childhood....

SPRINGTIME TULIPS         ... April showers brings May flowers"...It must be so, because we in Barberton are noticing all the flowering trees and spring flowers as we float by on our pontoon boats.  That's actually a local joke in reference to how much rain and flooding we have experienced lately.  I would begin the spring clean-up of Le Petit Jardin if it would ever stop raining.  Meanwhile, I drink more tea while nibbling a cookie as I plan how I will set up this year's gardens.  Lots of art projects are bombarding my brain as I stir my gardening mojo during the wet waiting.  Lately I have been on a lemon kick since discovering scrumptious non-gluten lemon shortbread cookies.  Lemon scented candles have perfumed my abode and I have been using lemon essential oils as my springtime personal fragrance.  Watercolor images flood my imagination as I think of herb stores from the past.  Those were my happy places years ago.  No...
